SQL Delta is a great value, fast SQL database compare tool used to analyze, compare and synchronize database structures and data. SQL Delta compares all database objects including tables, views, stored procedures as well as permissions, user defined functions and so on. SQL Delta will script the differences between two databases allowing you to synchronize the two with the click of a button.
SQL Delta can also perform a data compare between the two selected databases, comparing one or more tables at a time. The combination of schema and data compare allows you to synchronize an entire database at one time with one product. SQL Delta also reports on structures and data including differences and exports reports to HTML and PDF.
Version 3.1 of SQL Delta offers the following new features and improvements; command line function, owner mapping, star view, projects, connection manager, snapshots and offline comparisons, database diagram copying, full text catalogues and support for case sensitive structure comparisons and data compare improvements. All new features and productivity improvements are based on customer feedback. The introduction of a command line function provides users with a mechanism for controlling SQL Delta by remote control, allowing databases to be compared and changes scripted without any user intervention. Version 3.1 now provides object ownership mapping. It is now possible to perfrom comparisons between databases with different users and different ownership configurations.

If you're not starting to get the idea that you and I have a ton of learning in our futures if we expect to be prepared to lead the charge to SQL Server 2005 me thinks you've likely been spending a little too much time out behind the shed with (the other) Yukon Jack. In case you didn't notice, Itzik Ben-Gan's SQL Server "Yukon" Beta 1 Transact-SQL Enhancements white paper in the MSDN Library claims to be a mere 68 pages in length even though it disclaims, "This paper does not cover every new Transact-SQL feature.". And on top of the T-SQL we have to get our brains around the wherefores and whys of managed .Net code within the SQL Sever 2005 memory space as potentially powerful additions to the T-SQL tool set for building stored procedures, functions, and User Defined Data Types, ADO.Net Data Sets, new administrative programmability powers with SMO and WMI, the intrinsic asynchronous message based interoperability of System Broker, a rich new world of XML integration in both the administrative depths and the development interoperability layers, a completely rewritten DTS and the emerging Reporting Services among the other exciting details of a dramatically evolved next generation BI Suite, web services that are truly part of the SQL Server architecture (That's right, IIS not required!), and even some giant and sweeping authorization model changes that are going to render much of our security models obsolete and profoundly vulnerable.
