Edit WSDL Files with XMLSpy
The XMLSpy WSDL editor allows you to create, edit, visualize, and validate any WSDL file. WSDL is a language for describing Web services and is ideally suited as an interface definition language (IDL) for architecting Web services applications. By first building an interface, client and server programmers can implement their respective programming contract using any language or operating system, avoiding interoperability problems. XMLSpy helps you write and validate WSDL documents quickly and easily. The graphical WSDL editor displays the WSDL file structure as well as the WSDL elements grouped by operations, portTypes, bindings, and services. You can manipulate the file by dragging and dropping elements, and context-sensitive windows and entry helpers provide intelligent editing options.

WSDL.EXE problem with BEA WSDL
As it turns out, using the 1.x builds of the .NET Framework, wsdl.exe (and VS.NET) are sometimes unable to process perfectly good WSDL documents generated from the latest versions of BEA WebLogic Workshop. If the WSDL contains multiple schemas, and any have the same targetNamespace as another, you'll get something like, "a schema with the namespace 'urn:foo-bar" has already been added."

The wscompile Tool
The wscompile tool generates stubs, ties, serializers, and WSDL files used in JAX-RPC clients and services. The tool reads as input a configuration file and either a WSDL file or an RMI interface that defines the service.

Command Line Utilities
This appendix describes how to operate the J2ME Wireless Toolkit tools from the command line and details the steps required to build and run an application. It also describes the J2ME Wireless Toolkit’s certificate manager utility, called MEKeyTool (Mobile Equipment KeyTool) and the MIDlet signing utility, called JAD Tool (Java Application Descriptor Tool).

WSDL Toolkit
The Emerging technologies team is expanding the scope of the toolkit to include autonomic and grid-related technologies and have therefore renamed the WSTK to the Emerging Technologies Toolkit (ETTK). In addition, the ETTK will continue to offer leading-edge prototyping of emerging Web services technologies for recently released specifications. The ETTK can be downloaded here at alphaWorks.

WSDL 2 AGENT TOOLS
This tool can generate a so-called proxy agent (that can then be run in in Jade agent platform) for an existing web service described by a Web Service Description Language (WSDL) file, making it possible to call web services indirectly within an agent environment. This proxy agent accepts client agent requests, calls the actual web service, and sends the results back to the client agents.

WSDL Tools
So, following all the fuss on the soap list over WSDL (try starting from here), i thought i'd have another look at the current WSDL tools, to see if they've improved at all since last time i looked, here's a brief summary of what i found.

WSDL Editor and Documentation Generator
The new WSDL editor allows you to edit, visualize, and validate any WSDL file. WSDL is ideally suited as an interface definition language (IDL) for architecting Web Services applications. By first building an interface, client and server programmers can implement their respective programming contract using any language or operating system, avoiding interoperability problems.
