Description:Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) is an Extensible Markup Language (XML) vocabulary with the goal of "enabling mathematics to be served, received, and processed on the Web, just as HTML has enabled this functionality for text." MathML is a low-level format primarily designed for machine-processing. Thus, MathML syntax-sensitive authoring environments are needed to speed-up the development cycle. One such environment, MathType, is described here in detail. Examples of the use of MathType in various scenarios are given.
