The following code is an example of a WML page that calls a WMLScript. The WMLScript uses the Crypto.signText function.

WAP/WML templates require a php Content-Type header to be passed along with the template. The easist way to do this would be to write a custom function that prints the header. If you are using caching, that won't work so we'll do it using the insert tag (remember insert tags are not cached!) Be sure that there is nothing output to the browser before the template, or else the header may fail.

The card tag serves as a container element for all the various texts, images, links, and other WML tags that you wish to use to create your wireless web site. A card element is somewhat analogous to the body element in HTML, but with one major difference, in that you can have more than one card element. The previous chapter described how to test a static WML deck on a local file system. It is also useful to test the deck on your Web server to make sure it is properly configured for WML.

In the following example, we will build a simple WML card that asks the user to input a social security number (an identification number used by the U.S. Social Security Administration). We will then use WMLScript to verify that the user’s input was formatted correctly. Following this verification, we’ll alert the user via WMLScript to let them know whether their number was accepted or not. This example, though simple, represents a typical usage of WMLScript on a client.

The template tag creates a code template that is automatically added to every card in a single deck. Only one template element can occur per deck. This tag can only be contained in a wml element. It can only contain do and onevent elements.
