Sorting XML
Sorting is specified by adding elements as children to an or an element. The first child specifies the primary sort key, the second child specifies the secondary sort key, and so on. When an or element has one or more children, instead of processing the selected nodes in document order, it sorts the nodes according to the specified sort keys and then processes them in sorted order. When used in , elements must occur first. When a template is instantiated by and , the current node list consists of the complete list of nodes being processed in sorted order.

OASIS Members Advance Service Oriented Architecture Based on ebXML and Web Services
Members of the international standards consortium, OASIS, announced plans to advance an electronic business architecture that builds on ebXML and other Web services technology. The new OASIS Electronic Business Service Oriented Architecture (ebSOA) Technical Committee will use ebXML Technical Architecture v1.04 as a starting point for describing a service-oriented architecture and practical implementation techniques that take into account the ebXML OASIS Standards (recently approved as ISO 15000), as well as recent developments from other OASIS technical committees and standards bodies.

XML from Flash
Once you have loaded your XML into Flash, made sure it was loaded ok, made sure it parsed without a hitch, then maybe manipulated it some and called it a day, you then have the option of sending that XML back to the server from whence it came.

XML Basics
Before making/editing XML, lets first learn what it is. That begins with understanding why XML is; why does it exist? Basically, XML was created to serve as an easily usable, readable method to format information within an basic text file. What it does is allows you to contain information (text/numbers) in a hierarchal manner. This means one bit of information can serve as a type of file folder for holding more information.

xmlformat: Consistently format XML files
xmlformat is a REX-based script (take your pick from Perl or Ruby versions) for consistently reformatting XML files; that is, "canonizing" and normalizing whitespace, indenting, line-wrapping, and placement of line breaks. It works as advertised, handling mixed content and "verbatim" content correctly.

XML database futures
As SQL and XML capabilities converge in the leading relational engines, you might conclude that there's no future for dedicated XML databases. A year ago, in his keynote at the InfoWorld CTO Forum, BEA Chief Architect Adam Bosworth explained why they're still relevant, and what their new mission will be. Coarse-grained XML messages are the wefts of the service-oriented fabric we're now weaving. We're going to be pumping a lot of those messages, and the pumps won't merely route messages. They'll also scan SOAP headers, correlate messages, enforce security policies, and respond to XPath-style queries -- all this in a real-time environment that can't tolerate the slightest delay.

Will Yukon strike XML gold?
Expected to ship by mid-2005, Yukon represents a major step forward for Microsoft in the XML arena. Striving to match the native XML storage capabilities in IBM’s, Oracle’s, and Sybase’s relational databases, Yukon will finally store XML data in a structured fashion, along with supporting the shredded and unstructured storage methods already available in Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Why XML 1.1?
I'd better say it right now, though XML 1.1 and namespaces in XML 1.1 do not include that many changes compared to XML 1.0 and namespaces in XML 1.0, these changes are enough to break the compatibility: a well formed XML 1.1 document isn't necessarily a well formed XML 1.0 document.
