Making the Widgets Available
On most systems, Builder Xcessory accesses widgets by loading a shared library when the widget class is first accessed. To load widgets dynamically using Builder Xcessory, the following two requirements must be met:

Lesson 13: Adding images to a page and changing the display
...
In this tutorial we cover WML's support for images, and how to make events occur after a specified amount of time. These two features are often found together, as it is common for sites to have image-heavy site entrances, followed by automatic entry into the site proper.

WML Takes XML on the Road
Say you're a salesperson, and you need to check some vital statistics about your inventory. If you're at home or in the office, you simply fire up your browser and link to your firm's Web site or intranet. But what if you're on your way to a meeting with an important client? Soon, you'll be able to access all the information you need over a cell phone or PDA (personal digital assistant) using WML (Wireless Markup Language).

Introduction to WML, Apache, and PHP
Working on a website for my company, I discovered the need for wireless access to my email, stocks and such. Not wanting to pay someone else to give me this information, I decided to develop a wireless site. The information to do this is available on the internet, but it is scattered and hard to come across.

WAP/WML
WAP/WML templates require a php Content-Type header to be passed along with the template. The easist way to do this would be to write a custom function that prints the header. If you are using caching, that won't work so we'll do it using the insert tag (remember insert tags are not cached!) Be sure that there is nothing output to the browser before the template, or else the header may fail.

XHTML-MP Style Guide Appendix A
While XHTML MP enables the creation of visually appealing pages, developers with a background in WML or HDML will find that some of the features available in those mark-ups are no longer available. Because of this, migrating from WML/HDML to XHTML cannot be automated and a more reliable and functioning application will result from doing it manually with the help of the information presented here. This chapter gives an overview of the differences between WML/HDML and explains which alternative constructs can be used for features that are no longer supported.

WML TAG: input
The input tag is used to collect text or password information that is entered into the browser by the user. The input element will display an input field, which upon being selected, opens a text editing window in which the user can enter the requested information.

XML Web Services: Part 3: Using with WML
One of the great features of .NET is the ease with which data from a Web Service can be integrated into environments such as mobile devices. Using the Mobile Toolkit and the Web Service from our previous examples, you can easily make your data available to WAP/WML devices.

WML/xHTML Development for Sony Ericsson Phones
A few years have passed since the peak of the WAP hype. Since then, we have not heard much about it. Now that WAP 2.0 is reaching the mainstream, it is worth another look. Most of the current devices support the old standard, WAP 1.2.1. WAP 1.2.1 is available on Sony Ericsson phones such as the T100, T200 and T600.

Lesson 10: Using WML variables
Unlike HTML, WML supports a limited use of variables (note that this has nothing to do with the scripting language WMLScript - these variables can be used in WML proper). This lesson covers how one uses WML variables.

WAP stands for Wireless Application Protocol. It is a global standard specified in order to make Internet services available for mobile users. Using Wireless Markup Language (WML, a type of XML, the eXtensible Markup Language), software developers create WAP sites that can be accessed fast and easily from a WAP enabled mobile phone or terminal.

), Distribution
Here you can grab the tarballs of complete distributions containing major releases. Not all interim releases are archived, only the initial release of a revision (patchlevel 0) and the latest release on this revision (highest patchlevel) are kept. For all other releases first grab a tarball and then apply one or more of the patch files.

If you are using an SDK, you will be able to see the WML code at the same time as browsing the page. If you only have a HTML web browser, you can visit the 'Fetch Page' service at http://www.webcab.de This displays the source for any WML page on the Internet.

The UP.Link platform
The UP.Link platform, shown in Figure 1-1 below, provides subscribers with secure, wireless access to a wide array of Internet and other network services using data-capable wireless phones or personal digital assistants (PDAs). For the purposes of this documentation, these specially-enabled handheld devices are called UP.Phones.

The phone and browser being simulated are composites of the most common characteristics of the phones that most people use. This phone doesn't map directly to any particular manufacturer, but is somewhat of a "lowest common denominator" combination between Nokia and ATT&T phones.
