Often XML contains dates in all sorts of formats, and either XSL Developers have to go through a great deal of diplomatic negotiations with Developers responsible for the XML, or worse there is no one to talk to.

XPath Navigation Holding Back the SQL/XML Database Industry
This article was published on Ken North’s SQL Summit Site, Jan 18, 2008. It identifies the advantages that are gained from navigationless XML access and processing for XML databases. XML was designed for markup with its hierarchical relationships that exceed standard database hierarchical relationships and principles. Standard database processing with its more limited standard hierarchical relationships and rigid hierarchical principles can be processed without manual user navigation allowing it to support more complex full multi-leg hierarchical processing. This article explains these additional capabilities.

ANSI SQL Navigationless XML Hierarchical Processing
This blog is dedicated to hierarchical data processing, and ANSI SQL’s inherent ability to transparently and navigationlessly process full multi-leg (nonlinear) hierarchical queries at a full hierarchical processing level. It covers all aspects of this new ability from hierarchical structure and processing principles to ANSI SQL’s transparent and navigationless extended advanced hierarchical XML processing and how and why this is possible. Advanced Data Access Technologies, Inc. (www.adatinc.com) has refined its natural ANSI SQL hierarchical processing technology solution into a fully working ANSI SQL transparent and navigationless XML hierarchical processor beta. It will be used in this blog to demonstrate advanced multi-leg hierarchical processing capabilities performed by ANSI SQL syntax and semantics and introduce some newly uncovered natural relational capabilities for advanced hierarchical data modeling and processing.
